Atlanta
Women in Transaction Services (“AWTS”) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to offering women in the merger
and acquisition and distressed transactions services arena a wide range of professional development and networking opportunities.
Mission: The
organization’s mission is to increase retention, promotion, and quality of life for women in the industry through
mentoring, networking and educating. Additionally, we aim to economically empower other women in emerging
nations starting with Peru.
About Members: Our members are women in all areas of M&A
and distressed transactions services, including
but not limited to valuation, M&A tax, restructuring, private equity, accounting due diligence, investment banking, integration,
transfer pricing, corporate, and legal professionals. Our Goals: · Holding quarterly meetings that have both a networking and educational component
· Implementing a voluntary mentoring program for those seeking advice
from more senior members · Sustaining a Minority Microenterprise Village Bank in Peru (Through partnership with The International Alliance for Women; AWTS is funding small loans to impoverished women needing working capital to start or expand a business.)
History:
· AWTS
started holding meetings in January 2007.
· We have 40 attendees per meeting, on average.
· Thanks to its members, AWTS raised $5000 in funds to launch a village
